Type Locality and Naming

It was named by Hou Hongfei et al . in 1979. The type section is located at Sarburtishan, southeast of Matubulak in Hoboksar Mongol Autonomous County, the Xinjiang Uygur Zizhiqu.

Synonym: (沙尔布提山组)


Lithology and Thickness

The formation, 150-362 m in thickness, consists of gray, grayish green, brown thick-bedded to massive medium-to-coarse-grained tuffaceous conglomerate, pebbly grit intercalated with tuffaceous micritic sandstone. It bears anthozoa Favosites.

Lower contact

It is conformable onto the underlying Sharbur Fm

It is conformable below the overlying Kekexiongkuduk Fm
